Wood Fence
Wood has long been used for fencing projects because of its durability and natural beauty, adding a traditional but comfortable level of strength to any outdoor fencing project. We have experience in installing and cutting wood for wooden fences so that you can achieve the perfect wooden fence that complements your home to a T. Whether you want a picket fence that is painted white, a wooden fence that’s traditional with a dark, rich stain, or a simple wooden fence that includes a gate for easy access, we can help you with all of that and so much more!
Traditional One of the main reasons that many opt for wooden fencing is because it is a traditional option that offers a natural effect and complementary appearance to your home’s exterior. The traditional and rustic look of wood is welcoming and warm and allows you to customize it as you see fit. Wood is also relatively durable and can last for many years, adding value and comfort to your home and beauty to your outdoor space. We recommend using wood as a traditional fencing material, especially if you have the budget to invest in it, want a durable solution that will enhance your home’s exterior, and are comfortable with the maintenance that comes with wood fencing. Types of Wood There are a couple of different types of wood that can be used for wooden fencing, but the two types that we prefer include pine and cedar. We enjoy these two types of wood because they are solid, strong, and durable, giving you long-term use and reliability. If you decide on one of these types of wood, you can also consider staining them to achieve a different color hue for your fence. Wood Staining If you are happy with the wood for your fence, but you want to customize it slightly by altering its color, then we recommend staining your wood with a non-hazardous stain. Staining your wood is done by adding a dye to the top layer of the wood so that it lightly penetrates the surface to change the color of the wood. Once dried, the wood is then sealed and is ready to go, adding more beauty and dimension to your outdoor space. You will receive the best results from your wood stain if you re-stain your wood every few years and seal the stain with a topcoat. Wood Sealing Once your wood has been installed for your fence, we will then need to seal the wood to ensure that it can provide long-term comfort and durability. If your fence has not been sealed after installation, it is more likely to succumb to premature damages, rotting, and deterioration. It can also lose its stain color quicker if it has not been sealed in place. We recommend sealing your wood after installation and staining, as well as re-sealing it every few years to keep it looking and feeling great and to maintain the richness of the color if you have it stained. |
